The Circulator Boot
The Circulator Boot is a compression boot that fits over the leg and is a proven device for helping to heal diabetic ulcers and reducing amputations. In fact, this FDA-approved system is the best alternative to amputation and is an exceptional device for helping to heal diabetic ulcers.

How the Circulator Boot Works
The boot increases circulation by providing a pumping action coordinated by the rhythmic action of the patient's own heart. This is not a Lymphedema pump. The leg is enclosed in a fiberglass shell lined with an inflatable plastic bag that can be filled with special wound healing solutions, including antibiotics, and topped with a regulator, which is attached to a heart monitor. Between heartbeats, air pulses through the bag and compresses the leg. Oxygenated arterial blood is drawn in and venous blood is expelled. The cycle is repeated 60 to 100 times per minute. Additionally, antibiotics can be injected into the wound prior to treatment so that the medication circulates more effectively.

Machinery, Poor Circulation

The Circulator Boot Study
The Circulator Boot has successfully treated poor circulation non-surgically in the feet and legs with a dramatic increase in blood flow. In a 15 year national study involving 1,035 patients and 2,177 treatments, eight out of 10 patients showed healing or improvements in their diabetic wounds and circulatory problems in the lower extremities with the use of the Circulator Boot. As one of only 32 centers with this equipment in the United States, we are successfully treating wounds and arterial venous insufficiencies that were not responding to conventional treatment.
